Murfreesboro City Schools is requesting sealed bids for the purchase, delivery, installation, startup, testing, and commissioning of one indoor walk-in freezer system with two redundant remote refrigeration systems and aluminum dunnage racks, with bids due October 20, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Central Time via the OpenGov Procurement Portal. The walk-in freezer unit shall measure 12 feet by 20 feet by 9 feet high with exterior stucco galvanized finish, aluminum treadplate flooring, one flush-mounted entrance door with LED lighting, and three additional LED light fixtures. The system must maintain -10°F under an outdoor ambient design temperature of 95°F, with each of two complete and independent refrigeration systems capable of maintaining temperature while the other is out of service. The scope specifies two Russell Model RFO600L4SGB condensing units and two Russell Model RL6E162DDA evaporator coils or equivalent, plus 14 aluminum dunnage racks in specified configurations (2 ASDR-1424, 7 ASDR-2036, 1 ASDR-2048, and 4 ASDR-2060 racks). The Total Base Bid must include all equipment, freight, delivery, labor, permits, electrical and plumbing connections, refrigeration work, startup, testing, training, cleanup, and warranty. The contractor serves as single point of responsibility for turnkey services, field verification, installation, commissioning, and owner training. Equipment warranties include a ten-year panel warranty, five-year compressor warranty, and one-year refrigeration parts and installation labor warranty with four-hour response and 24-hour onsite service obligations.
Place of performance is the District's warehouse at 910 Ridgley Road, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Written questions are due October 5, 2026. A pre-bid meeting will not be held; prospective bidders may request access to inspect the installation location by contacting Jaclyn Saunders at Jaclyn.Saunders@cityschools.net. Bids remain valid for 90 days after bid opening or until contract award. The public bid opening occurs via Zoom on October 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time (attendance optional).
