About this opportunity

Chatham County, Georgia is requesting bids on the provision and installation of a universally accessible, sensory-rich playground at AMBUC Park with bids due August 24, 2023 and a pre-bid conference on August 3, 2023 at AMBUC Park, 7230 Sallie Mood Drive, Savannah, Georgia. The project is funded in whole or in part by the American Rescue Plan Act and is subject to Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements (rates ranging from $11.89 to $29.29 per hour depending on classification). MBE/WBE participation goals of 12 percent MBE and 5 percent WBE apply; bidders must demonstrate good faith efforts in subcontracting with qualified MBE/WBE firms.

The scope involves designing and installing playground equipment for children ages 5–12 across approximately 4,798 square feet, including 10 ground-level components, 4 elevated components accessible by ramp, and 3 total elevated play components with maximum fall heights up to 105 inches. Equipment must meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, ADA accessibility requirements, ASTM F1487 safety standards, and CPSC safety guidelines; all components must be IPEMA certified except the CoolTopper Single Post Pyramid Roof. The design incorporates synthetic turf surfacing and multi-colored equipment systems. Detailed material specifications require stainless-steel fasteners per ASTM F 879 with tamperproof pinned design; steel coatings including zinc plating, galvanizing, ProShield finish (minimum 0.006" film thickness), and TenderTuff coating meeting ASTM standards for hardness, flexibility, impact, salt fog resistance, and UV exposure. Shipments must include component-specific hardware packages, order-specific assembly instructions with diagrams and footing dimensions, packing lists, and maintenance kits.

Chatham County requires a current Tax Certificate, proof of property tax payment, E-Verify compliance, and debarment status disclosures. Contractors must maintain commercial general liability insurance ($1 million minimum), workers' compensation insurance ($500,000 minimum), and business automobile liability ($1 million combined single limit). Bid prices must remain firm for 60 days from bid opening; payment is due within 30 days of invoice approval. Submissions are made exclusively through the Chatham County Bonfire Portal.
