About this file
This is a 2D layout plan for a playground equipment installation project at the AMBUC Aquatic Center in Savannah, Georgia, prepared by Playground Creations. The project involves the design and installation of a comprehensive playground system designed for children ages 5-12 years, featuring multiple play components with a total site area of 4,798 square feet. The equipment specifications include 10 ground-level components, 5 accessible ground-level components, zero elevated components accessible by transfer, 4 elevated components accessible by ramp, and 3 total elevated play components. Key equipment includes the PlayBooster structure with a maximum fall height of 88 inches, freestanding play equipment with a maximum fall height of 105 inches, accessible ramps with guardrails and curbs, multiple climbing panels, bridges, and specialized features such as the We-Go-Round, Zipkrooz, We-Go-Swing, and Lolliladder. The layout indicates a phased implementation, with Phase 1 components identified on the plan. The design was finalized on June 26, 2023, with previous revisions dated February 8, March 28, April 10, and May 4, 2023.
The playground design conforms to ADA accessibility standards and ASTM F1487 safety requirements, with all components IPEMA certified except the CoolTopper Single Post Pyramid Roof. The plan specifies that protective surfacing must be selected based on critical height values corresponding to equipment fall heights, with a well-drained subsurface required and recommendations for tiling or sloping at 1/8" to 1/4" per foot to a storm sewer or French drain if natural drainage is inadequate. Submissions for this project are to be made through the Chatham County Bonfire Portal. The design drawing is the first of six sheets in the complete project documentation set.
