The pump assembly must include a 30 horsepower, 3-phase, 60 Hz, 480-volt motor with vertical discharge and three specified accessories: an 8-inch ANSI flange kit, a 5-inch ANSI flange kit, and a V-coupling reducer for discharge. The equipment must feature high-performance corrosion-resistant plastic construction with a closed and balanced impeller meeting grade 6.3 specifications, a mechanical seal compatible with chlorinated pool water, and a totally enclosed fan-cooled motor enclosure type capable of integration with existing control panel systems or variable frequency drives. All pricing must be submitted on a freight-prepaid, FOB destination basis with unit prices inclusive of all shipping and delivery costs, and delivery is required Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The procurement was posted on May 1, 2026, with a questions and answers submission deadline and a solicitation response deadline of May 8, 2026, and all vendors must submit responses electronically through the Bonfire BPRO platform to receive consideration. Award evaluation criteria include lowest responsive and responsible vendor selection, with Rice Pump & Motor Repair Inc identified as the lowest bidder at a total cost of $9,614.93, compared to competing bids from Commercial Energy Specialists, LLC at $10,272.56 and Southeast Pump Specialist at $15,920.00.

This procurement contains no identified set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises or restrictions limiting response eligibility; however, vendors must complete a comprehensive Vendor Questionnaire certifying they have not been debarred or suspended by any government entity within the last three years, are currently authorized by the manufacturer, will accept Visa credit card payment without additional fees, and have no conflicts of interest with Broward County officers or employees. Vendors must maintain Commercial General Liability insurance with minimum limits of $500,000 each occurrence and aggregate, Business Automobile Liability with $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage limits (if using company vehicles for delivery), and Workers' Compensation at statutory limits, with all carriers carrying an A.M. Best rating of A- or better and financial size category VII or greater. Broward County must be named as an additional insured on applicable policies with a minimum of 30 days' notice of cancellation required. The County is exempt from federal and Florida sales taxes, and standard manufacturer warranty coverage of one year on defects is required as a contractual deliverable. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the solicitation materials, though the selected vendor Rice Pump & Motor Repair Inc will be responsible for warranty support and equipment integration with existing control systems. The estimated award value for this one-time purchase is approximately $9,600 to $16,000 based on the three submitted bids, with Rice Pump & Motor Repair Inc's bid of $9,614.93 representing the apparent award amount.
