About this opportunity

Granite School District is issuing a notice of intent to award playground replacement parts without engaging in a standard procurement process under Utah Code 63G-6a Part 8, with an objection deadline of October 5, 2026.

Any qualified vendor claiming to offer comparable or better specifications, or a competing source for the procurement item, must submit a challenge via email to alpontius@graniteschools.org by the close date. The challenge must include the vendor name and contact person; detailed documentation showing competing sources exist; proof that the vendor can provide a comparable or better item meeting or exceeding the specifications; documentation of equivalent or identical proprietary availability; and, if transitional costs justify the single-source determination, a cost comparison of the District's identified transitional costs against the vendor's anticipated transitional costs.

The District is proceeding under one of three statutory grounds: sole source availability, material transitional costs as a significant selection factor, or circumstances making standard procurement impractical or contrary to the District's interests. The source does not identify the incumbent vendor, estimated contract value, specific playground parts, or the justification invoked.

No action is required from vendors who do not contest the award intent.
