About this opportunity
The City of Columbus, Georgia is requesting bids for pharmaceutical supply services for Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services (CFEMS) under RFB 23-0013, a re-bid following cancellation of RFB 22-0011, with the original due date of September 7, 2022 extended to September 14, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. EST via Addendum No. 2. The contract will be awarded to a single vendor—the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
Bidders must hold a current pharmaceutical license in Georgia and possess DEA registration (Form DEA-223) to handle controlled substances. The scope comprises 39 line items of medications, injectable medications, oral medications, and IV solutions with estimated annual usage quantities ranging from 1 to 856 units per item. The City does not accept partial bids or substitutions in size, strength, or form without explicit approval. Bidders must supply unit pricing for all items with shipping, delivery, and freight included; the City is exempt from state retail and federal excise tax. Medication expiration dates must be minimized at 12 months from purchase, with 18 months preferred. The vendor may serve as a reverse distributor for expired medication disposal under DEA regulations.
Bidders must carry general liability insurance ($1 million minimum), workers' compensation, and other specified coverage with the City named as additional insured, and must submit a notarized E-Verify affidavit demonstrating Georgia work-authorization compliance. The contract term is two years with an option to renew for three additional twelve-month periods at mutual agreement. An escalation clause on Page 12, Item IV of the RFB governs price adjustments during the contract period. The City reserves the right to request additional related pharmaceutical items during the term at quotes to be obtained from the contracted vendor. Payment terms are net 30 days. No formal bidders' conference is scheduled; vendors may attend the virtual opening via Microsoft Teams. Bound Tree Medical, LLC was awarded this contract as the lowest bidder.
