About this opportunity
Laredo Independent School District is requesting proposals for integrated pest management services across 33 district facilities, with proposals due October 13, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. Central Standard Time via the District's Bonfire Portal.
The scope covers 6 scheduled inspections per location annually plus up to 15 unscheduled service calls, pest monitoring, written site-specific structural recommendations, proper pest identification and management consistent with IPM principles, and four-hour emergency response capability. Services include indoor and outdoor control for rodents, insects, mosquitoes, and arachnids, with quoted pricing for birds, bats, termites, and plant-feeding pests. The contract covers 20 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 5 high schools, and administrative and support buildings.
Vendors must possess a trained or board-certified entomologist on staff or available as a consultant, hold pest control business licenses and pesticide applicator licenses, and provide ACORD 25 certificates of insurance. All pricing must remain firm throughout the initial contract period and must encompass truck, equipment, office, mileage fees, monitoring supplies, pesticides, baits, and all related costs. Vendors furnish all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment; additional services beyond scope require prior written District approval at an approved fee rate.
The contract term runs from November 13, 2026, through November 12, 2027, with options for two additional one-year extensions contingent on acceptable performance and available funding. The Board of Trustees is anticipated to approve the award on November 12, 2026. Vendors must submit compliance certifications regarding boycotts of Israel, foreign terrorist organizations, anti-lobbying, debarment status, civil rights, and federal regulations. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting certification are required for all vendor personnel with direct student contact; all staff must wear distinctive uniforms with visible company identification while on District property. The District reserves the right to award to one or multiple vendors and may reject any or all proposals.
