About this opportunity
Weston Preparatory Academy in Detroit, Michigan is requesting proposals for parking lot replacement services, with sealed proposals due August 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. to CS Partners in Brighton, Michigan — a same-day deadline as posting. A voluntary walk-through occurred on August 6, 2026; the questions deadline was August 10, 2026. Addendum #01 has been issued; review of both the base RFP and addendum is required for full compliance.
The scope covers removal of approximately 38,000 square feet of bituminous asphalt pavement and 910 square feet of concrete, including base undercutting as needed, followed by installation of 4 inches of new Hot Mix Asphalt in two 2-inch lifts and complete restriping. Pricing proposals must itemize parking lot replacement (37,614 square feet), 21AA aggregate sub-base (price per ton installed), cement stabilization (as an alternative if needed), 4-inch edge drain (price per linear foot installed), and parking blocks matching existing installations. The site is located at 22930 Chippewa Street, Detroit, Michigan 48219.
The successful bidder must commence construction no less than seven days after notice to proceed and complete all work by October 2, 2026. All prospective bidders must provide three references and attend the walk-through. Bidders must submit a bid bond equal to 5 percent of the project amount; the successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds for 100 percent of the bid amount. Bids remain valid for 30 days following submittal.
Contractors must comply with Michigan State and local building codes and Michigan prevailing wage requirements under Public Act 10 of 2023. A one-year workmanship warranty is required. Bidders must submit a Familial Disclosure Statement, School Safety Initiative Affidavit, and Iran Economic Sanctions Act Certification. The Academy, a tax-exempt entity, will provide a tax-exempt form to the awarded contractor. Contractors must obtain required permits at their own expense. The Academy reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and is not obligated to accept the lowest cost bid.
