About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL) is seeking to procure reagents and equipment from Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. to support its outbreak detection activities for enteric and viral diseases. The required items include chemical evaluation instruments, electrical measuring and testing equipment, clinical and diagnostic analyzer reagents, and analyzer maintenance services. These specialized products must comply with standards specified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and provide capabilities such as >99.999% consensus accuracy, long reads, and single-molecule resolution to generate closed reference genomes, which the BPHL currently lacks. The DOH has determined that Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. is the exclusive manufacturer of the necessary reagents and equipment in the United States. The procurement term is three years, with an estimated total value of $375,000.

This is a sole-source procurement, as the DOH has determined that Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. is the only vendor capable of providing the required reagents and equipment that meet the necessary standards and capabilities. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and no incumbent vendors or current contractors have been identified. Prospective vendors are invited to provide information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodities or services.
