About this opportunity
The Unified Fire Authority (UFA), a political subdivision of the State of Utah operating within Salt Lake County, is issuing Request for Proposal #2026-03 for comprehensive overhead and roll-up door services across its facilities. The procurement encompasses parts supply, installation, repair, and ongoing maintenance services, with specific deliverables including installation and replacement of new overhead and roll-up doors with associated components such as motors, openers, tracks, springs, and safety systems; supply of replacement parts including springs, cables, rollers, hinges, tracks, hardware, electric openers, and weather seals; repair services addressing both mechanical and electrical issues with emergency response capability; and preventative maintenance consisting of routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, safety checks, and service record maintenance. Qualified offerors must submit itemized pricing with clearly identified discounts, including hourly labor rates for standard and after-hours work, holiday and weekend rates, trip and fuel charges, shop fees, disposal fees, and parts pricing based on verifiable lists or published rates. The evaluation criteria weights pricing and discounts at 50 percent, experience at 30 percent, and availability of stock at 20 percent. Electronic proposals must be submitted through the Bonfire platform at https://utah.bonfirehub.com/portal/?tab=openOpportunities by 11:00 AM Mountain Standard Time on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The contract term is five years commencing June 1, 2026, with two additional one-year renewal options available at UFA's discretion; oral interviews and onsite inspections may be conducted at UFA's discretion.
The RFP does not specify set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types eligible to respond, nor does it identify incumbent vendors or current contractors. Selected contractors must maintain minimum insurance coverage including workers' compensation, commercial general liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate with UFA named as additional insured, and comprehensive automobile liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence. All prices and discounts must remain firm for the entire contract term including renewals; however, price adjustments are permitted only if the manufacturer's price to the supplier increases, with written notice required and UFA receiving the full benefit of any manufacturer price reductions immediately. Payment shall be made within thirty days of invoice submission for accepted services and parts. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the solicitation. UFA is exempt from sales, use, and federal excise taxes and will provide exemption certificates upon request, and reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive minor technicalities, and terminate the agreement at any time with thirty days' written notice.
