About this opportunity
The California Department of Motor Vehicles is requesting quotations for preventative and remedial maintenance on three IBML ImageTrac IT6 6475 scanners, with responses due August 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Evaluation is based solely on lowest total cost across the one-year initial term plus two optional extensions (six months and five months).
A 5 percent small-business preference applies to certified California small businesses or non-small businesses committing to 25 percent small-business subcontractor participation; a 5 percent DVBE incentive applies for confirmed DVBE participation of 5 percent or greater.
The scope includes monthly preventative maintenance and on-call remedial maintenance with response times not exceeding two hours for critical requests and three hours for non-critical requests. The selected contractor must deploy a factory-certified field engineer with at least one year of experience on IBML ImageTrac scanners, located within a 25-mile radius of 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California 95818. The scanners are in production use two shifts, five days per week, and must maintain 98 percent operational availability during production hours. The contract runs December 1, 2026 through October 31, 2027, with the awardee required to begin work within ten business days of award.
The contractor must provide commercial general liability insurance of not less than $1 million per occurrence, automobile liability coverage, workers' compensation insurance if applicable, and professional liability insurance of not less than $1 million per occurrence and $3 million in aggregate. All staff must pass Department of Justice background checks, complete DMV privacy and security training, and sign confidentiality and acceptable use statements before commencing work. The DMV will not reimburse travel, per diem, or travel time — all such expenses must be included in contractor rates. Invoices are paid monthly in arrears. Written questions are due August 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, with responses posted by August 25, 2026.
