All components must meet Category 6 specifications and local and EIA/TIA standards. The scope requires installation of General Cable GenSpeed 6000 or equal category 6, plenum-rated, CMP-listed unshielded twisted pair cable (24 gauge, four pairs per station) routed through ceiling areas and concealed in walls where possible or via surface-mounted raceway at vendor cost. Cable termination must follow 568b wiring standard suitable for Gigabit Ethernet. All wall jacks must be Panduit RJ45 jacks (CJ688TGYL) or equal, and faceplates must be Panduit white (CFPE model series) or equal, rated for Category 6 specifications. Each installation includes an additional ten feet of coiled, tie-wrapped cable left in wall, ceiling, or the Intermediate Distribution Frame for future use. The vendor is responsible for all permits and fees required by municipalities in the three campus locations: Paramus, Lyndhurst, and Hackensack. Jacket color is specified by the College with each work request.
Performance locations span all three BCC campuses. The College retains the ability to call upon the vendor for services at any or all locations during the contract period. All installations must comply with applicable local building codes.
