About this opportunity
The City of Lawton, Oklahoma, located in Cleveland County, is seeking up to five private firms to provide nuisance abatement services within the city's corporate limits through contract CL25-019. The procurement opportunity involves removing public nuisances on private properties that violate Chapter 15 of the Lawton City Code, including grass, weeds, junk, debris, fallen trees and limbs, and other obstructive materials. Contractors will be responsible for providing their own labor, equipment, and transportation, and must complete all work within seven calendar days of receiving a work order. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for January 31, 2025, at 3:00 pm, with the bid opening on February 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Bidders must submit an hourly rate for services, with payment calculated based on a minimum first-hour bid and subsequent half-hour increments, and are required to photograph work areas before and after service and maintain disposal records. The initial contract term is 12 months, with the potential for up to two one-year extensions, and the City estimates issuing approximately 1,600 work orders annually, though no specific number of orders is guaranteed.
Contractors must maintain appropriate insurance coverage and provide at least one mowing crew to perform the services. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the bid documents include non-discrimination provisions. The contract does not specify existing infrastructure or technology requirements for integration. Bidders will need to demonstrate their capability to mobilize quickly, handle various types of nuisance removal, and comply with local regulations. Though a specific budget range is not provided, the City's estimated 1,600 annual work orders suggests a potentially significant contract value. Interested firms must carefully review the complete bid documents, ensure they can meet all technical and operational requirements, and be prepared to respond to work orders efficiently and professionally within the specified seven-day timeframe.
