About this opportunity
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services Department of Public Health is seeking to purchase pediatric and adult vaccines for their statewide immunization program through this contracting opportunity. The vaccines will be purchased from a list of vendors approved by the CDC, including GlaxoSmithKline LLC, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Pfizer, Inc., Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics, Sanofi, and Seqirus USA, Inc. This program has been in place since 2004 and is currently authorized by Chapter 28 of the Acts of 2014. The vaccines will be distributed via the CDC's McKesson vaccine distribution contract at no additional cost to the Commonwealth, enabling the purchase of vaccines at the lowest available pricing directly from the manufacturers. The contract opportunity is open to all interested vendors, and the proposals are due by May 23, 2017.
There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond to this opportunity. The current incumbent vendors for this program are the CDC-approved manufacturers listed above. The Commonwealth has existing infrastructure and technology in place to integrate the purchased vaccines into their statewide immunization program. The budget range for this contract is not specified, but the opportunity seeks to enable the Commonwealth to purchase vaccines at the lowest available pricing through the CDC's contracting mechanism.
