About this opportunity
Quincy Community Schools, a Michigan public school district located in Benzie County, is soliciting sealed bids for a 2019 Boiler Replacement & HVAC Upgrades project. The project scope encompasses the removal of two existing steam boilers from a below-grade boiler room, along with associated condensate receiver tanks, pumps, steam heat exchangers, and terminal heating equipment, followed by installation of new high-efficiency condensing boilers, pumps, piping, terminal heating equipment, and electrical power requirements. Bid documents are available beginning March 4, 2019, and must be requested electronically from Mende Engineering Solutions, LLC. A mandatory pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 2:00 PM at the Board of Education Office, One Educational Parkway, Quincy, Michigan. Sealed bid proposals must be received by 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at which time proposals will be opened publicly and read aloud. Project award is anticipated on or about March 25, 2019, with a project completion deadline of August 15, 2019. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid must accompany each proposal in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or money order, and bids may not be withdrawn for thirty (30) days after the bid date.
All bidders must provide notarized familial disclosure statements in compliance with Michigan law and sworn affidavits of compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act. This project is not subject to prevailing wage requirements. No set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, minority-owned businesses, or women-owned businesses are indicated in the procurement documents. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are referenced, and no specific existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements are detailed beyond the replacement of the boiler and HVAC systems. The procurement documents do not specify a budget range or estimated award value. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, accept a bid other than the low bid, and waive informalities or irregularities in the bid process. Project award is conditioned upon successful bond financing.
