About this opportunity
San Jacinto Community College District (SJCCD) is requesting proposals for comprehensive moving and relocation services across seven campus locations in the Houston area and La Porte, with proposals due July 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time and questions due June 23, 2026.
SJCCD seeks a contractor capable of handling office furniture, computer workstations, records management systems, laboratory supplies and equipment, and specialty items including grand pianos, safes, oversized equipment, and audiovisual equipment across multiple campus sites. Services include disassembly and reassembly, installation of modular systems, and temporary storage. The contractor may use approved subcontractors for specialty work but must coordinate all subcontractor services directly.
The contract term is one year with four one-year renewal options on the same terms and conditions. Pricing for the initial term is firm on labor (supervisors, coordinators, movers, packers, drivers, furniture installers, and specialty services at regular and overtime rates), rental fees (trucks, trailers, and storage), and materials (boxes, packing supplies, protective coverings, and delivery). For renewal periods, price adjustments are permitted based on CPI-W calculations and documented labor and product costs from U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indices.
Evaluation criteria are weighted as qualifications (35 points), references (10 points), price proposal (40 points), attachments (10 points), and exceptions to sample contract terms (5 points). Respondents must submit a qualifications form addressing years of experience in moving services, prior relationships with educational and public entities, personnel experience, operational capabilities, complaint and claim-resolution processes, and timelines for service recovery. Required attachments include equipment and fleet lists, organizational chart, active TxDMV and/or FMCSA compliance documentation, proof of insurance, conflict of interest form, and restricted terms and conditions acknowledgment. References must include at least five recent projects from colleges or public sector accounts of comparable or larger size within the past three years. SJCCD is tax-exempt; respondents are responsible for all tax implications. Award recommendations and approvals are anticipated between August and September 2026. Proposals are submitted through the IonWave e-bidding portal.
