About this opportunity
The Texas A&M Forest Service Purchasing Department is soliciting sealed bids through Invitation for Bid (IFB-26-006) for comprehensive ceiling and lighting repairs at its 1,950 square foot office facility located at 711 Forsythe Street in Carthage, Texas 75633. The scope of work encompasses installation of 5/8-inch fireguard-rated sheetrock over existing 12"x12" ceiling tiles with subsequent taping, floating, and orange peel texturing; painting the ceiling with Sherwin-Williams Pro Mar 200 flat white and cove molding with Pro Mar 400 extra white semi-gloss; removal and replacement of 530 linear feet of cove molding; replacement of 22 two-by-four surface-mount LED fixtures in lieu of existing fluorescent fixtures; removal and replacement of seven ceiling fans with owner-provided units; and replacement of one 26"x54" attic access while preserving and reusing all ceiling HVAC vents and exhaust fans. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site inspection scheduled for April 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. is required for all interested bidders. Sealed bids must be received by 4:00 p.m. Central Time on April 24, 2026, either via email to bids@tfs.tamu.edu or hand-delivered to the Texas A&M Forest Service Purchasing Department. The deadline for written questions is April 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m., with any required addenda issued by April 17, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Successful bidders must obtain and provide certificates of insurance including employer's liability coverage of $500,000 per accident, comprehensive general liability of $1,000,000, comprehensive automobile liability of $1,000,000, and statutory workers' compensation coverage, with bid pricing to remain firm for twelve months from the bid opening date. The Texas A&M Forest Service reserves the right to award based on low line item bid, low total bid, or any combination serving the agency's best interest, and retains discretion to reject any or all bids.
No HUB Subcontracting Plan is required, as the Texas A&M Forest Service determined that subcontracting opportunities are not probable under this contract, and no specific set-aside designations or restrictions limiting eligible bidders by organization type have been identified. All bidders must comply with applicable federal and state laws, including civil rights, safety, and environmental regulations, and must certify non-segregation of facilities and non-participation in boycotts of Israel or business with Iran, Sudan, or foreign terrorist organizations. No incumbent vendors or existing infrastructure integration requirements were specified in the procurement documents. The contract is subject to cancellation at any time without penalty if funds are not appropriated by the Texas Legislature or for other unforeseen causes. No award value or budget range has been disclosed in the available procurement documentation.
