About this opportunity

Burnet County, Texas is issuing an Invitation for Bids (ITB #26-6110-01) for the procurement and delivery of one self-contained boom axe mower equipped with specific factory-installed components including a 22-26 foot FLA-capable boom arm, 24-foot rotary deck with 60-inch articulate capability, 360-degree rotating grapple, front lift arms with universal attachment mount, buffalo blower attachment, radial tires, reversing cleanout radiator fan, and 1,400-pound counterweight. The unit is not to be a modified agricultural tractor and must be delivered fully prepared with freight and delivery costs included in the lump-sum bid price. Sealed written bids must be submitted by June 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM to the Burnet County Purchasing Office located at 133 E. Jackson, Burnet, Texas 78611, or electronically to bids@burnetcountytexas.org. The deadline for submitting questions regarding the bid is May 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Bid documents are available at https://www.burnetcountytexas.org/page/auditor.bids. The county will evaluate bids based on purchase price, vendor experience and reputation, quality of goods, alignment with county needs, vendor's past relationship with the county or other governmental entities, historically underutilized business compliance impact, total long-term cost, safety record, and proposed personnel. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder meeting all requirements, with award contingent on submission of required documentation and contract execution.

A bid bond equal to 5 percent of the contract amount is required from all bidders, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract amount are required for contracts exceeding $100,000 and $25,000, respectively, with all bond premiums to be included in the bid price. Bonds must be issued by a solvent surety company authorized to conduct business in Texas. Burnet County is a tax-exempt organization, and bid prices must exclude sales tax on exempt materials, supplies, or equipment. All bidders must comply with certification requirements including submission of Texas Ethics Commission Form 1295, felony conviction notification, debarment certification, and various compliance affirmations regarding boycott of Israel, firearm discrimination, and business with designated foreign entities. The bid acceptance period is 60 calendar days unless otherwise noted. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the procurement documents, and no specific budget range or award value is listed, though the contract value will be determined by the lowest responsible bid meeting specifications.
