About this opportunity
The Chickamauga City Board of Education is soliciting sealed competitive proposals from qualified general contractors for the construction of new tennis courts and a concessions/restroom building at Gordon Lee High School located at 600 Lee Avenue, Chickamauga, Georgia. The project, with SAE Project Number 01-412-041, requires contractors to deliver completed construction of athletic facilities and support infrastructure that meets all specifications outlined in the construction documents prepared by Southern A&E, LLC. Proposals must be received by April 7, 2026 at 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time at the Chickamauga City School Board Office, 402 Cove Road, Chickamauga, Georgia 30707, with a mandatory pre-proposal meeting scheduled for March 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location; attendance at the pre-proposal meeting is required for bid acceptance. Interested contractors may arrange site visits to inspect existing conditions by appointment with Mr. Wendell Boley at 706-382-3100, and construction documents are available from Southern A&E, LLC at 770-819-7777. Evaluation will be conducted using a 100-point scoring system comprising Firm History and Capability (15 points), Current Work Load (10 points), Project Personnel Qualifications (10 points), Project Schedule (15 points), and Bid (50 points), with the low bidder receiving maximum bid points and higher bids scored proportionally. Award of the contract is contingent upon Chickamauga City Board of Education approval following evaluation completion. Contractors must be licensed in Georgia and comply with the Georgia Local Government Public Works Construction Law, submit six copies of their proposal and two sealed bids in a sealed package marked with the project title, and proposals may not be withdrawn for thirty days following submission.
Respondents must demonstrate compliance with Georgia's Security and Immigration Compliance Act and provide affidavits verifying lawful presence in the United States through the SAVE program. Selected contractors are required to provide a five percent bid bond as the sole acceptable form of bid security, along with Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract sum, which must be issued by a surety licensed in Georgia, listed on the Federal Register, and acceptable to the owner. Comprehensive insurance coverage is mandatory, including workers compensation, general liability, automobile liability, umbrella excess liability, and pollution liability. Payment will be submitted using AIA G702 forms and Georgia State Department of Education Form DE 0263. The project budget is $2,750,000.00. No specific set-asides for disadvantaged enterprises or other restricted designations are mentioned in the procurement documents, nor are there any listed incumbent vendors or current contractors identified. The procuring jurisdiction is Ware County, Georgia, through the Chickamauga City Schools system.
