About this opportunity

The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida is pursuing a single-source procurement of the Fitness Court system and associated services from National Fitness Campaign LP (NFC). This notice of intent to purchase single/sole source commodities and services was posted on January 24, 2026, with a seven-business-day posting period extending through February 3, 2026, followed by a three-business-day protest period from February 4–6, 2026. The Fitness Court is a permanently installed, outdoor bodyweight training system occupying 1,024 square feet (32' x 32') with 30 integrated training components organized into seven functional fitness zones (core, squat, push, pull, agility, lunge, and bend) capable of accommodating 28 simultaneous users and delivering full-body workouts at no cost to the public. NFC's comprehensive offering extends beyond the physical equipment to include site planning and design services, grant and sponsorship coordination, fabrication and installation, launch and media support, certified ambassador training, and ongoing digital activation through the proprietary Fitness Court mobile app featuring exclusive Mark Lauren Special Operations training programs, proprietary check-in features, and GPS-based data analytics. The infrastructure would be deployed on Hillsborough County school campuses and adjacent community spaces to support physical education enhancement, before and after-school activities, staff wellness, and broader community use. NFC justifies sole-source procurement based on three primary differentiators: the trademarked and proprietary nature of the Fitness Court system, the integrated digital ecosystem and exclusive training content, and access to NFC's multi-million dollar annual grant fund supported by health insurance sponsors including Blue Cross and Blue Shield affiliates across multiple states.

The procurement contains no disclosed set-aside designations or restrictions on types of organizations that can respond. However, interested firms that believe they offer like commodities or services must submit Exhibit B: Response to Purchase Single/Sole Source Commodities and Services with supporting documentation via www.vendorlink.com during the seven-business-day posting period by February 3, 2026, to be considered for evaluation. All structural components are manufactured in the United States using high-grade carbon steel with dual-layer powder coating, stainless steel cables, and galvanized fittings, with NFC providing warranty coverage, maintenance guidance, and replacement parts availability. Hundreds of municipalities and institutions nationwide, including Sacramento, California and Las Vegas, Nevada, have successfully procured the system via sole-source procurement, demonstrating nationwide installation network capability and performance-tested community activation experience. The documentation does not disclose specific pricing, funding amounts, contract term details, or total award values, indicating that financial terms and contract duration remain to be negotiated or determined following the completion of the posting and protest periods.
