About this opportunity
The State of Maryland, through the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), is seeking proposals for the procurement of high-quality diagnostic laboratory multi-test equipment to distribute to Maryland primary care offices. The equipment must be able to quickly and accurately diagnose symptomatic patients for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza A or B, and COVID-19, with the goal of reducing the spread of respiratory viruses. The diagnostic platforms must deliver results within 60 minutes or less, have an Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA for COVID-19 detection, and be CLIA-waived for use in physician offices. The equipment should have the ability to perform at least four virus tests simultaneously and transfer results electronically to physician office EHR systems. The contract will be awarded to a single firm that can meet the requirements, with an initial one-year base period. Proposals are due by September 13, 2022, and the procurement process is outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP).
There are no Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) participation goals for this contract. The contract is funded with federal dollars, and the State has indicated that the awarded vendor may be permitted to utilize a distributor to supply future assays, provided the product is not substituted. The State has not specified an estimated contract value or budget range, but the RFP indicates an estimated quantity of 100 units, though this is not a guaranteed order amount. Interested vendors are advised to review the amendments and requirements carefully, and to submit any additional questions to the Procurement Officer.
