About this opportunity
The City of Aurora, Colorado is requesting bids on the Mountain View Ballfields Backstop and Dugout Renovation project under IFB Bid #6156A, with bids due September 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time through the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System (BidNet). Colorado labor requirements mandate that a minimum of eighty percent of labor employed must be Colorado residents. For large businesses on construction contracts exceeding $250,000, a good faith effort to award at least ten percent of subcontracting dollars to small business enterprises (SBEs) is required unless the contractor performs one hundred percent of the work with its own workforce.
The scope includes demolition and removal, earthwork, site preparation, and protection of existing trees; erosion and sedimentation control; concrete flatwork and footers; galvanized backstop and dugout fencing with taller backstops featuring overhead hoods; dugout framing and roofing to protect players from foul balls and the elements; replacement of posts, rails, and fencing materials; and removal of existing safety netting.
The estimated project cost ranges from $450,000 to $490,000. Work must be completed within 80 consecutive calendar days plus 10 consecutive calendar days for mobilization after issuance of the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per day for failure to meet deadlines. Progress payments will be made at ninety-five percent of completed work with five percent retainage held until final completion. Bid bonds equal to not less than five percent of the bid amount are required; the successful bidder must execute performance and payment bonds within ten calendar days of the Notice of Award and provide required insurance certificates. An optional pre-bid conference is scheduled for September 2, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time via Microsoft Teams. Written questions are due September 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
