About this opportunity
Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH), operated by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, is requesting sealed bids for on-site mobile diagnostic imaging services under IFB #IFB 121571-1, with bids due June 24, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. The hospital requires a single vendor to deliver two scheduled sessions per week plus as-needed services at its Burkeville, Virginia location.
Joint Commission (JCAHO) accreditation is a mandatory capability filter — PGH maintains this accreditation and requires all medical service providers to hold it. The scope includes digital radiography (DR), ultrasound, and electrocardiogram (EKG) services with registered radiologic technologists and licensed radiologists certified by Virginia. Response times are four hours for routine requests and two hours for STAT/emergency cases. All equipment must operate on Direct Radiography technology with on-site image processing and physician viewing. Same-day verbal reporting of x-ray results is required.
The contract term runs from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with four optional one-year renewal periods. Pricing is structured on an all-inclusive flat-rate basis per service, not to exceed Medicare allowable fees, with separate line items for routine digital x-rays with interpretation, trip/cancellation charges (permissible only under conditions specified in Section III.k.i of the base solicitation), STAT fees, and optional unit pricing for EKG, ultrasound, Doppler studies, echocardiography, Holter monitors, and bladder scans.
Bidders must supply proof of Joint Commission accreditation, personnel credentials, business license, and valid insurance including workers' compensation, employer's liability of $100,000, commercial general liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate, and automobile liability of $1,000,000 combined single limit. A small business subcontracting plan targeting 42 percent small business participation is required. The Commonwealth applies eVA transaction fees of one percent capped at $500 for DSBSD-certified small businesses and one percent capped at $1,500 for other businesses per purchase order. Written questions were due June 11, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Addendum No. 1 was posted June 12, 2026 and requires a signed acknowledgment submitted before bid due date or attached to the submission. Bids are submitted electronically via eVA, by hand delivery to Lorrie Shaffer at Building 29 (5001 Patrick Henry Highway, Burkeville, VA 23922), or by mail to P.O. Box 427, Burkeville, VA 23922.
