About this opportunity

Burke County Board of Commissioners in Georgia is soliciting sealed bids for the procurement of one (1) mini-excavator for the Roads and Bridges Department, with bids due on November 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The equipment must meet specific technical requirements, including an enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning, a minimum weight of 23,000 lbs, a 65 HP engine, hydraulic quick coupler, hydraulic thumb, steel tracks with rubber pads, and a rear-mounted camera. Bidders must submit comprehensive documentation, including operators' manuals, repair and service manuals, warranty information, and delivery timeframes. The bids must be sealed and clearly marked "MINI-EXCAVATOR BID - ROADS AND BRIDGES - November 5, 2025" on the envelope. The county will evaluate bids based on responsiveness and will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder meeting their operational requirements. Potential bidders with questions are advised to contact Ron Smith at 706-554-3124 or r.smith@burkecounty-ga.gov.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations were mentioned in the bid documents. The solicitation appears to be open to all qualified vendors capable of meeting the technical specifications for the mini-excavator. While no incumbent vendors were identified, the bid emphasizes the need for a fully operational machine that meets Burke County's specific operational needs. The documents do not specify a precise budget range or award value, though the detailed technical requirements suggest the county is seeking a high-quality, specialized piece of equipment for its Roads and Bridges Department. The procurement process reserves the right for Burke County to reject any and all bids, indicating a comprehensive evaluation approach focused on finding the most suitable equipment to support the county's infrastructure and maintenance operations.
