About this opportunity
The State of Maine is soliciting bids for custom mezzanine structures for Building 700 at 289 N Hildreth Street, Bangor, Maine, with proposals due March 7, 2017.
The scope comprises two separate mezzanine installations. The first is L-shaped, measuring 18 feet by 14 feet by 8 feet, designed for secure tool storage on the ground level and heavy mat storage on the upper deck. Both structures must support a 150-pound-per-square-foot load rating at L/360 deflection. Specifications include wire cage enclosures on lower decks with Dutch-style hinged doors (3'0" x 6'8") swinging inward on the left side, 4-foot-minimum-opening sliding doors for upper-level access, and solid steel ladders with flared entries meeting OSHA specifications. Forklift access at two upper-level locations is required for each mezzanine. Construction shall feature 5-inch by 5-inch by 3/16-inch square columns with 5/8-inch thick 12-inch square base plates, structural perimeter and intermediate support beams, properly sized bar joists, and 1-inch-thick 19w4 welded bar grating floor decking with saddle clamps and tek screw attachment. All steel surfaces receive black shop coat paint; ladders receive powder coat finish with steel base mounting brackets. The end user is responsible for verifying that existing floors can support maximum column loading. Delivery is included in the bid price.
