About this file
This is a technical specification document for mezzanine installations required by the State of Maine for Building 700. The project involves two separate mezzanine structures to be delivered to 289 N Hildreth Street, Bangor, Maine 04401. The first mezzanine requires an L-shaped configuration measuring 18 feet by 14 feet by 8 feet, designed for secure tool storage on the ground level and heavy mat storage on the upper deck, with a 150-pound-per-square-foot load rating. The second mezzanine specifications are referenced but specific dimensions are not clearly delineated in the document. Both mezzanines must feature wire cage enclosures on lower decks, with Dutch-style hinged doors (3'0" x 6'8") swinging inward on the left side. Upper-level access requires 4-foot-minimum-opening sliding doors, and both structures must include solid steel ladders with flared entries meeting OSHA specifications. Forklift access at two upper-level locations is required for each mezzanine.
The mezzanine structures shall be constructed with 5-inch by 5-inch by 3/16-inch square columns featuring 5/8-inch thick 12-inch square base plates, structural perimeter and intermediate support beams, and properly sized bar joists. Floor decking shall consist of 1-inch-thick 19w4 welded bar grating with saddle clamps and tek screw attachment, finished with black shop coat paint. The load rating specification is 150 PSF – L/360, and the end user is responsible for verifying that existing floors can support maximum column loading. All ladders must feature powder coat finish and steel base mounting brackets. Delivery costs are included in the bid price. No information regarding pricing terms, set-asides, contract timeline, response deadlines, or funding sources is provided in this technical specification document.
