About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is pursuing a single-source procurement for marketing services through the "Fresh from Florida" Grocery Retailer Marketing Program, specifically targeting Metro Ontario, a supermarket chain operating in Ontario, Canada. The procurement focuses on marketing services to promote Florida agricultural products, with specific UNSPSC codes 80171702 and 80141600. Key deliverables include planning and publishing weekly online sale flyers featuring Florida agricultural products, distributing in-store signage, coordinating in-store promotions, creating vendor-specific publications, and managing social media posts across Metro and Food Basics supermarket brands. The procurement is authorized under Florida Statute 571.2 to promote Florida agricultural commodities, value-added products, and agricultural-related businesses. The contract opportunity was posted on June 16, 2025, with a deadline for prospective vendors to provide relevant information by July 8, 2025. Vendors must be non-paid members of the "Fresh From Florida" Industry Membership program and demonstrate capabilities in agricultural product marketing.

The procurement appears to be a non-competitive, single-source contract with no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types. Metro Ontario is identified as the sole source vendor due to its unique marketing capabilities and direct connection to grocery retail channels in Ontario. The contract is intended to run from the date of execution through June 30, 2026, with an estimated contract amount of approximately $60,000 and a maximum potential spend of up to $100,000. No incumbent vendors or existing infrastructure integration requirements are explicitly mentioned beyond the marketing services to be provided by Metro Ontario. The procurement process allows for other prospective vendors to provide information demonstrating their ability to deliver similar services, with the Department reserving the right to review and potentially adjust its single-source determination based on responses received by the July 8, 2025 deadline.
