About this opportunity

The City of Newark, New Jersey is seeking bids for a two-year contract (Bid No. 07-WS2025 REBID) for Maintenance and Repair of Cranes for the Department of Water & Sewer Utilities. The contract covers maintenance and repair services for eight cranes located at various facilities including water treatment plants, gate houses, pump stations, and municipal locations in West Milford, Wayne, Clifton, Belleville, and Newark. Bidders must provide hourly rates for crane maintenance and repair for two consecutive years, along with a discount percentage for materials. The solicitation requires vendors to submit comprehensive pricing proposals, demonstrate compliance with New Jersey prevailing wage requirements, and provide extensive insurance coverage. Vendors must be capable of responding within 24 hours for normal work assignments and within 4 hours for emergency work, with all repairs subject to final inspection by the City's Water and Sewer Utilities Department. Electronic bids will be received through the City's e-Procurement Portal until 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, with a public bid opening immediately following.

The procurement includes several mandatory compliance requirements and certifications, including a Disclosure of Investment Activities in Iran, a Certificate of Non-Involvement in Prohibited Activities in Russia or Belarus, and comprehensive vendor submission forms addressing equal employment opportunity, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, and ownership disclosure. Vendors must complete detailed questionnaires demonstrating their qualifications, including business structure, employee counts, and contractual references. While no specific set-aside designations are explicitly mentioned, the documents emphasize non-discrimination requirements and include special ordinances addressing business restrictions. The bidding process requires vendors to submit various mandatory forms, including non-collusion affidavits, affirmative action documentation, and tax identification information. Though a specific award value is not directly stated, the two-year contract for crane maintenance across multiple municipal facilities suggests a potentially significant contract opportunity for qualified service providers with expertise in crane maintenance and repair.
