About this opportunity
Lowndes County Schools in Georgia is requesting sealed bids for 165 desktop computers and 165 monitors, with bids due September 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at 1592 Norman Drive, Valdosta, GA 31601, addressed to Terri Dinkins. Electronic submission will not be accepted; bids will be opened publicly at the Board of Education building.
Desktop computers must be Dell or HP business-class mid-tower units with Intel Ultra 5 225 processor (minimum), 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, DVDRW optical drive, 2 DisplayPorts, 1 HDMI port supporting 4K resolution, Windows 11, keyboard, and mouse. No refurbished products are accepted. Monitors must be Dell, HP, or Viewsonic 22–24 inch units supporting both HDMI and DisplayPort with 1920×1080 resolution capability; cables to connect monitors to CPUs are required. Vendors bidding Viewsonic monitors must provide a manufacturer letter of authorization.
Desktop computers require a three-year warranty covering parts and labor. Monitors require a three-year warranty with advanced replacement and free shipping both ways. All proposals must specify shipping costs and delivery logistics to the district's loading dock. Bidders must provide detailed support processes and warranty claim submission procedures, including all related costs and up-charges. Vendors must indicate whether bid pricing applies to additional purchases and, if so, the duration of the price hold.
Established vendors with satisfactory history at Lowndes County Schools are exempt from submitting references; all others must provide three references from previous customers, preferably school systems. Lowndes County Schools is an established HP Self-Maintainer and has formerly maintained Dell equipment directly.
Evaluation considers price as a significant factor alongside vendor history in the education market, past performance with the district, positive reference evaluations, and warranty and service proposals. The Technology Department will evaluate proposals and recommend to the superintendent within thirty working days of bid opening.
