About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Transportation is requesting quotes on light-weight aggregate (expanded shale) for statewide delivery on an as-needed basis under eRFQ 48400-DOT0002204, with quotes due March 22, 2021. Suppliers must be manufacturers listed on GDOT's Qualified Products List (QPL #2 - Coarse Aggregate Sources) no later than the closing date; contact the Office of Material and Testing at 404-608-4857 to apply. Georgia Resident Small Businesses are eligible for price matching within 5% of the lowest bid up to $10,000, and Georgia Enterprises for Products and Services (GEPS) receive an 8% price preference.
The scope covers three aggregate types — Course Aggregate #9 Stone, Course Aggregate #7 Stone, and Course Aggregate #89 Stone — priced per ton with delivery on an F.O.B. destination, Freight Prepaid and Add basis. All costs including freight, insurance, fuel surcharges, and customs duties are to be included in quoted pricing. Materials must comply with GDOT Standard Specifications for Construction of Transportation Systems, including Standard Operating Procedures 1 and 15 and Section 800 for Coarse Aggregate. The minimum order is one truckload, with delivery required within fifteen business days of purchase order receipt to one of eight GDOT District Maintenance Offices throughout Georgia. Deliveries must be scheduled Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET, with a required 24-hour advance notice. Suppliers must provide certified weight tickets for each load and are liable for replacement and removal costs if material fails to meet specifications.
The initial contract term is one calendar year from execution, with four optional one-year renewal periods at GDOT's sole discretion. Renewal pricing may include economic price adjustments based on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index for treated lightweight aggregate. Contractors must maintain commercial general liability of $1 million per occurrence / $3 million aggregate, workers' compensation, and automobile liability of $1 million combined single limit. Written questions are due March 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. EST; responses are due March 10 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Bid evaluation is expected within one to two weeks of closing.
