About this opportunity
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) Procurement Services is pursuing a single/sole source procurement for KbPort, LLC's specialized audiovisual recording and simulation management technology for educational purposes. The procurement, identified as number 25542-SSD-EST, specifically includes the KbPort In-Situ Cart and KbPort Central Server with Simplicity Software Suite, designed for capturing and managing learning activities, particularly patient interactions in medical simulation environments. The goods being procured encompass mobile A/V recording packages and comprehensive simulation center management modules with capabilities for scheduling, inventory tracking, reporting, and gradebook functionalities. The procurement notice will be posted from September 29, 2025, to October 7, 2025, with a subsequent protest period from October 8-10, 2025. Potential vendors are invited to demonstrate equivalent capabilities by uploading an Exhibit B response form via www.myvendorlink.com within seven calendar days of publication, though HCPS emphasizes this is not a competitive solicitation. The evaluation will be conducted solely by the General Manager of Procurement Services and the Procurement Officer to determine if bona-fide competition exists.
The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. KbPort, LLC is positioned as the direct manufacturer and exclusive vendor of these specialized simulation technologies, with a unique offering that includes hardware, software, installation, training, and technical support without subcontractors. The technology package offers features such as seamless data management integration, unlimited phone and online support, internet-based updates, and compatibility with LDAP and SSO systems. While no specific award value is explicitly stated, the procurement suggests a comprehensive technology solution for educational simulation environments, potentially applicable across multiple technical and medical training institutions. Optional features available with the technology include simulated electronic health records, medication dispensing, and task trainers, indicating potential scalability and customization of the procurement. The sole source nature of the procurement suggests that KbPort's technology represents a specialized, unique solution not readily available from alternative vendors.
