About this opportunity

The State of Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, through the State of Utah Division of Purchasing, is requesting quotes for wet mowing and herbicide application services at Willow Creek Wildlife Management Area in Uintah County, with quotes due September 29, 2026. The evaluation criterion is lowest cost; multiple or alternate quotes will not be accepted, and the State will recognize only the primary bid from any vendor submitting more than one quote.

The scope encompasses removal of sagebrush, greasewood, and rabbitbrush across 54 acres at elevations of 6,200 to 6,500 feet using simultaneous wet-blade mower application and herbicide. Work must be completed between October 5 and October 31, 2026, within a 27-calendar-day performance window. Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of one year of experience with skid steer or tractor-mounted wet mowers for this vegetation type and application method, and must provide equipment specifications including make, model, and horsepower. Contractors must hold a current Commercial Pesticide Applicator license from the State of Utah and must furnish Tordon 22K herbicide or equivalent at 2 quarts per acre, along with all adjuvants, water, and mixing equipment.

Pricing is on a per-acre basis; the quoted per-acre rate applies to all 54 acres and must include labor, equipment, materials, mobilization, and operating expenses with no fuel surcharges or adjustments permitted. A lump-sum final payment is issued upon completion and successful final inspection. The contractor bears responsibility for site access, equipment protection, waste disposal, surface restoration, and compliance with all state and federal environmental, fire prevention, and archaeological protections. A pre-work conference will be held at the project site before work commences. No mandatory site visit is required, though independent site inspection is strongly encouraged. Shapefiles and PDF maps are available upon request to bidders.
