About this opportunity
Jackson County, Georgia is seeking sealed proposals for a comprehensive roof replacement project for the Jackson County 4H Extension Building located at 164 Four Fifty Seven Drive in Jefferson. The procurement involves completely removing the existing roof system and installing a new roofing infrastructure, with two primary scopes: a base bid for the main low-slope roof and an add alternate for a separate low roof area. The total project encompasses approximately 11,372 square feet of roof area, requiring a new 60 mil PVC roofing system, new rigid insulation, cover board, and associated architectural elements like edge metal replacement and roof penetration modifications. Qualified general and roofing contractors must possess a valid Georgia State General Contracting License and submit one original and three copies of their proposal by June 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the project site, and bidders must include a 5% bid bond with their submission. Contractors will be evaluated based on comprehensive proposal documentation, compliance with immigration and building code requirements, and alignment with Jackson County's best interests.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly detailed in the procurement documents. The project requires contractors to provide comprehensive documentation, including proof of insurance, warranties, and compliance with the Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act of 2011. Bidders must submit unit pricing for potential additional work such as wood blocking and plywood sheathing replacement. While a specific budget range was not disclosed, the project will require performance and payment bonds at 100% of the contract price if awarded. The contractor will be responsible for providing a one-year warranty on all materials and workmanship. Jackson County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and ultimately award the contract based on what they determine to be in the highest and best interest of the county. The project is anticipated to be executed in a fully occupied and operational building, which will require careful coordination with ongoing 4H Extension operations.
