About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is requesting bids for demolition and removal of improvements at 2944 Panola Road in Stonecrest, DeKalb County, Georgia, under ITB-48400-RWPROPMGMT000677, with bids due June 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST. This solicitation is restricted to firms holding current GDOT prequalification status in Right of Way Property Management Services — a hard eligibility gate that filters all non-prequalified bidders.
Bidders must collectively hold GDOT prequalification in both E-3 (Demolition) and E-4 (UST Removal) service classes. The scope includes complete demolition of a 3,358 square-foot CMU/steel-frame convenience store and a 6,180 square-foot steel-frame fuel canopy; removal of three 10,000-gallon fiberglass underground storage tanks with associated piping and venting; demolition of miscellaneous structures including concrete footings, bollards, light standards, dumpster enclosure, and chain-link fence posts; removal of 44,000 square feet of concrete paving, 850 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter, and sewer line disconnection; grease-trap removal; and site restoration including final grading, erosion control, and temporary seeding. All work must comply with GDOT Demolition Technical Specifications (May 2018), Georgia Environmental Protection Division regulations, and OSHA asbestos-handling requirements. The demolition contractor must engage a GDOT-prequalified UST consultant as a subcontractor to coordinate tank removal, liquid disposal, tank washing, regulatory sampling, and closure documentation.
The contract term is thirty days from purchase-order issuance, with work completion required within forty-five days of Notice to Proceed. GDOT will award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Performance and Payment Bond at 100 percent of total bid price and insurance including $1 million Commercial General Liability and $1 million Automobile Liability are required within ten business days of Notice of Intent to Award. Questions are due June 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST. A communication restriction is in effect; respondents may not contact GDOT staff except to submit questions as instructed.
