About this opportunity
The City of Fort Oglethorpe, located in Georgia, has issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) #004-25 for a comprehensive asphalt road resurfacing and milling project targeting various city streets within its municipal limits. The procurement seeks a qualified contractor to complete approximately $700,000 of road infrastructure work, which includes laying 9.5mil and 19mil Superpave asphalt at specified rates (135 and 220 lbs per square yard), applying tack coat, providing signage and traffic control, and performing lane striping in both thermoplastic and paint. Bidders must be GDOT-approved contractors who perform at least 70% of the work themselves, with comprehensive documentation requirements including a bid proposal form, bid fee form, execution of bid form, exception sheet, affidavit of non-collusion, insurance certificates, and E-Verify compliance documentation. Key submission deadlines include written questions due by Friday, July 25, 2025, at 2 p.m., and sealed bids due by Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. The city will evaluate bids based on the lowest responsive and responsible bid, with the project completion targeted for March 31, 2026.
The procurement includes specific insurance requirements, mandating minimum Worker's Compensation and General Liability Insurance with defined coverage limits. Contractors must comply with Georgia's Security and Immigration Compliance Act and adhere to GDOT specifications. The city reserves the right to determine specific streets to be paved based on available funds and will not accept partial bids. As an additional consideration, the city will provide a dump site for millings within city limits and may allow the contractor to keep a portion or all of the millings. The total project budget is approximately $700,000, with potential flexibility in award structure, as the city indicates bids may be split or awarded in their entirety. The bid price will remain valid for 90 days from the bid due date, and interested contractors must submit their sealed bids directly to the City of Fort Oglethorpe at 500 City Hall Drive, with specific labeling requirements to prevent accidental opening.
