Two optional alternates are available: Alternate #1 involves installing new restroom doors matching existing specifications with louver and hardware, and Alternate #2 includes removing an existing water tank and supporting structure. Bidder prequalification is mandatory, requiring contractors to submit a biennial pre-qualification letter from FDEP's Bureau of Design and Construction or provide current State Contractor license certification and Corporate Charter registration. Sealed bids are due by 3:30 pm Eastern Time on December 18, 2025, to be submitted to the Bureau of Design and Construction in Tallahassee, with bid posting anticipated by January 6, 2026. Builder's risk insurance is required and must be included in the bid price.
The procurement supports diversity in procurement, requesting that subcontracting opportunities reflect the full diversity of Florida's citizens. Contractors must utilize the E-Verify system to confirm employment eligibility for all employees and subcontractors. The project must be designed and constructed in accordance with green building standards per Executive Order 07-126 and Section 255.252(3) of Florida Statutes.
