About this opportunity

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for an Inventory Reconciliation contract with a contract term of 5 years. The MTA is seeking a contractor to reconcile its perpetual inventory of over 26,000 fixed assets valued at over $8 billion, located across multiple facilities and transit routes. The contractor will be required to conduct a comprehensive physical inventory count at least once every three years, as well as an annual sensitive items inventory. Key deliverables include locating items, verifying quantities, and reconciling any discrepancies. Bids are due by August 5, 2021, and the contract will be awarded on a firm fixed price basis to the responsible bidder submitting the most favorable bid.

The contract has a 20% Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation goal, but no Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) goal. The MTA will provide workspace and equipment, but the contractor may be required to attend training workshops at their own expense. Payment will be made monthly, and the contractor must comply with the State's prompt payment policy. The previous contract value was $600,000, and the MTA is interested in capturing additional information, such as make, model, and serial number, where available.
