About this opportunity

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking proposals for intermediate warranty services on Generac industrial standby generators and transfer switches at 99 pump stations across Genesee, Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties under ITN 260000000037, with proposals due August 25, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. EST and a questions deadline of August 19, 2026. This is a sole-source procurement—the intended provider is Wolverine Power Systems, the only authorized Generac Industrial Authorized Service Dealer (IASD) for the specified locations; respondents who believe equivalent alternatives exist must submit written justification by the proposal deadline.

The scope includes 24/7/365 support availability, emergency service call response within one hour during power outages, warranty maintenance and diagnostics, parts and materials costs per warranty guidelines, staff training on routine generator and transfer system checks, and paid site visits for routine inspections. Generators range from 0–400 kW (86 stations), 400–750 kW (9 stations), and 750+ kW (4 stations), with fuel types including natural gas, diesel, and propane. Maintenance levels span extended run-time checks (24-hour intervals), Level 1A (50 hours or 3 months), Level 1 (monthly or 24 hours), Level 2 (semi-annually or 100 hours), Level 3 (annually or 200 hours), and Level 4 (bi-annually or 500 hours), with load-banking testing under NFPA-110 standards available as an additional service.

All generators are currently covered under Generac's 5-year extended limited warranty (years 1–5: parts, labor, and travel; years 6–10: parts and labor only). Annual maintenance services are currently provided by Preventive Maintenance Technologies under a separate DTMB contract. Warranty coverage extends through 2029 on many units. The ITN references MDOT project numbers 213922, 216564, and 217122. NIGP commodity code 93639 applies.
