About this opportunity
Louisiana Tech University's Office of Purchasing is requesting bids on inspections and preventative maintenance services for building emergency generators and transfer switches across 35 active campus locations, with bids due September 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM. The award will be a single vendor under a blanket purchase order effective October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, with options to renew for two additional one-year periods by mutual agreement.
The scope encompasses one annual inspection and preventative maintenance service, one semi-annual inspection and preventative maintenance service, and 24/7 emergency services on an as-needed basis. Vendors must provide per-unit annual pricing for both inspection frequencies at each location, fixed hourly labor rates for normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), overtime rates for outside-hours work, and weekend/University-holiday rates. An emergency call-out fee may apply. All parts must be original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, with the vendor responsible for parts disposal and maintaining access to major repair parts within 24 hours.
The vendor must hold a current Louisiana commercial contractor license in good standing from the State Licensing Board for Contractors with an Electrical Classification Type designation. Prior to award, the vendor must provide evidence of compliant insurance coverage: Commercial General Liability, Automobile Liability, Workers' Compensation, Professional Liability, and Cyber Liability. A bid bond equal to five percent of total inspection pricing is required. Bid prices must remain firm for a minimum of 30 days from bid opening and shall include all costs for inspections, preventative maintenance, parts, labor, travel, per diem, and lodging. The University reserves the right to add or remove service locations, with supplemental pricing required for newly installed generators. Site visits are encouraged by contacting the Director of the Physical Plant; no formal pre-bid conference is scheduled.
