About this opportunity
Ingham Intermediate School District (Ingham ISD) is issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for a door replacement project across three campus locations: TEC Building, Heartwood School, and Wilson Talent Center. The project encompasses the removal, furnishing, and installation of six storefront aluminum entrance doors with associated hardware, exit devices, closers, thresholds, and weatherproofing materials. Deliverables include complete removal and disposal of existing doors and components, field verification of measurements, installation of new door assemblies compliant with applicable building codes and ADA requirements, caulking and sealing, final adjustments, and operational testing. All work must maintain compatibility with existing automatic door operators and comply with Michigan's Prevailing Wage Act requirements. The mandatory walkthrough is scheduled for April 27, 2026, from 3:00-4:00 pm EST at the TEC Building in Mason, Michigan. The deadline for submitting questions is May 4, 2026, at 5:00 pm EST, with answers provided by May 11, 2026. Bids must be submitted via the E-bid platform on the Ingham ISD website by 10:00 am on May 21, 2026, with an estimated award date of June 15, 2026, and project completion required by August 15, 2026. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
The ITB does not specify set-aside designations or restrictions limiting participation based on organizational type or minority/disadvantaged business enterprise status. All contractors and subcontractors are required to comply with Michigan's Prevailing Wage Act and must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds equal to 100% of the contract price from a Michigan-licensed surety company. Bidders must provide Commercial General Liability insurance ($1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate), Workers' Compensation, Errors and Omissions ($1,000,000), Employment Practices Liability ($1,000,000), Commercial Umbrella Liability ($2,000,000), and Motor Vehicle Liability ($1,000,000 combined single limit). Bid prices must remain firm for ninety days from submission and exclude state and federal taxes due to Ingham ISD's governmental exemption status. While the ITB does not list a specific project budget or award value range, all contractors are responsible for all project costs, including necessary night-time and weekend work, with no additional compensation permitted beyond the submitted bid price without written District approval. Standard payment terms are net 30 days minimum.
