About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting quotes for inflatable decontamination shelters, with quotes due January 6, 2012 by 2:00 p.m. local time.
The scope comprises inflatable decon shelters capable of inflation via either a provided blower or a single SCBA bottle. Each shelter must feature two lanes — one designed for non-ambulatory patients — with each lane containing an undress area, wash area, and re-dress area. The wash area must include a minimum of six wash heads (two overhead and two from either side), with overhead heads interchangeable to allow hosed connections in the non-ambulatory lane. Shelters must be constructed from opaque material and compatible with existing air and water heating equipment. Built-in basins for decontamination water storage (up to 100 gallons per basin) and overhead lighting are required for each area. Lane and room separators must be removable to allow operational flexibility. Undress and redress areas must have pass-through openings; exterior doors must feature Velcro closures sized and positioned for secure seals. Each shelter must include a repair kit and ground cloth of sufficient strength to prevent abrasion to the shelter structure.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value to the State, considering commodity quality, specification conformance, delivery dates, and overall economy. Unit prices must be quoted separately for each item unless otherwise specified. Pricing should include all trade and quantity discounts with delivery charges prepaid and included in the quote; cash discounts for payments of 20 days or more will be considered in determining the lowest bidder. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State sales and use taxes and should not be quoted those taxes. The Division reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities, and increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10% unless otherwise stated. All questions must be submitted through the designated Question and Answer link on the Solicitation Details View page; inquiries through alternative channels will not be considered valid.
