About this file

This specification document outlines the requirements for inflatable decontamination shelters for the State of Maine. The shelters must be capable of inflation using either a provided blower or a single SCBA bottle and feature two lanes, one designed to accommodate non-ambulatory patients. Each lane shall include an undress area, wash area, and re-dress area, with the wash area equipped with a minimum of six wash heads—two overhead and two from either side. The overhead wash heads must be interchangeable to allow hosed connections in the non-ambulatory area. The shelters must be constructed from opaque material to prevent visibility into or out of any area and shall be compatible with existing air and water heating equipment.

The shelters shall include built-in basins for decontamination water storage of up to 100 gallons per basin and overhead lighting for each area. Lane and room separators must be removable to allow operational flexibility. Each undress and redress area must have a pass-through opening, and exterior doors shall be equipped with Velcro closures sized and positioned to ensure a secure seal. The specification requires that a repair kit be included with each shelter and that a ground cloth of sufficient strength be provided to prevent abrasion to the shelter structure. No pricing, award dates, contract terms, or other procurement timeline information is included in this specification document.
