About this opportunity

The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University is requesting bids on a high-resolution lithographic 3D printer system for ceramics research and development under IFB 168022, with bids due August 25, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT. This is a competitive procurement with no set-asides or identified incumbent.

The system must deliver a minimum 20-micrometer resolution using UV laser-based stereolithography to process ceramic slurry feedstock with individual layer deposits of 20 micrometers. Build volume must be at least 100 x 100 x 150 mm, and the system must support custom, user-generated feedstock materials with particle sizes of 0.5 micrometers or smaller. The printer must include customizable parameters for laser power intensity, re-coater motion speed, and build plate positioning; a separate cleaning unit; starter materials and consumables; and GUI-based software capable of reading CAD files. Deliverables include installation, on-site training for up to five individuals, and a minimum one-year warranty. Bidders must submit sample printed and sintered ceramic components (alumina and yttria-stabilized zirconia) demonstrating specification compliance at their own expense.

Pricing must be quoted FOB Destination, Freight Prepaid with all costs included in the original bid; no additional charges are permitted. SUNY is tax-exempt, so quotes must exclude sales tax.
