The scope covers preventative maintenance, repairs, and emergency services on over 125 HVAC and refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, doors, and ice machines in the Dietary, Cold Storage, and Icehouse areas. The initial contract term is one year, with a maximum total term not to exceed ten years including renewals and extensions. The State will award to the responsive and responsible vendor submitting the lowest price and is not obligated to award. Bids remain firm for 120 days from opening.

The vendor must carry general commercial liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence with $2 million annual aggregate, auto liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence, and workers' compensation insurance as required by law, with the State named as additionally insured. All vendor and employee personnel must undergo criminal background checks and may be subject to drug testing prior to and during performance. The contract is subject to prevailing wage requirements under the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130).
