About this opportunity
Melbourne Airport Authority is soliciting sealed bids for gutter repairs at two airport locations under ITB 1TB 2026-0604; the bid due date was June 30, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., and the intended award has been announced.
MGM Contracting of Cocoa, Florida, has been selected as the lowest responsive bidder at $98,900. Nine bidders submitted proposals. The scope comprises complete removal and installation of 7-inch aluminum commercial box gutters at 100 Aerospace Drive (3,060 linear feet with 56 downspouts across one- and two-story configurations) and Airport Fire Station at 901 Tower Access Road (311 linear feet with 13 downspouts). Bidders must specify use of 0.032-inch or 0.040-inch thickness materials. Work must be completed within six weeks of Notice to Proceed.
Bidders were required to submit firm, fixed pricing inclusive of materials, labor, delivery, and disposal with no price escalation. Required submittals included a Bidder Response Sheet, itemized Bid Submission Form with separate line items for materials and labor at each location, Notice of Alternatives/Deviations, Conflict of Interest Certificate, Public Entity Crimes Sworn Statement (notarized), Non-Collusion Affidavit, Certification of Debarment, and E-Verify Certificate. Optional pricing was requested for additional out-of-scope repairs and hourly labor rates for supplemental work. Bidders were required to provide guaranteed materials receipt and project completion dates. A non-mandatory site visit was held June 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., and questions were due June 16 at 5:00 p.m.
Successful bidders must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance of $2 million, auto liability of $2 million, workers' compensation, $1 million fire insurance, and $2 million umbrella liability. No bid or performance bond is required. Work requires airport badging coordination for airfield areas; the Authority sponsors badging fees and requires 48 hours' advance notice for work in tenant leaseholds. Bids remain firm for 90 calendar days following submission.
