About this opportunity

Grand Strand Water and Sewer Authority (GSWSA) is seeking sealed bids for comprehensive lobby renovation projects at its Marion and Little River administrative locations. The procurement involves upgrading service counters to maximize space, enhance security, accommodate customers, and improve sound proofing within existing customer service offices. The contract documents require bidders to submit detailed documentation including license certificates, experience statements, project superintendence details, and subcontractor lists. Bids will be received until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the GSWSA Administrative Center in Conway, South Carolina, with a recommended pre-bid meeting scheduled for Monday, August 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Bidders must obtain contract documents through BidNetDirect and are required to be licensed contractors in Marion County. The architectural plans, prepared by D3G Architects, specify extensive interior modifications including new security windows, reconfigured interior walls, updated finishes, and redesigned casework using 2021 International Building Code standards.

The procurement allows for flexible bidding, with options to submit separate bids for Marion and Little River locations or a combined bid for both sites. A local vendor preference is incorporated, permitting GSWSA service area vendors within 5% of the lowest non-local bidder to match the bid for purchases over $10,000. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the bid requires compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Bidders must demonstrate professional licensing, relevant experience, and capability to execute comprehensive lobby renovations. Though specific budget ranges are not detailed in the documents, the project involves significant interior redesign with estimated costs likely in the mid-five-to-six-figure range. Interested contractors can obtain additional information by contacting the GSWSA Engineering Department at (843) 443-8258. The project will require precise implementation of architectural plans involving wall reconstructions, security feature installations, and modernization of customer service spaces.
