About this opportunity

The City of Albuquerque is requesting bids on grease trap pumping and cleaning services across 32 city and airport locations under RFB-2026-777-VAR-GS, with proposals due June 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time. The City intends to establish a Price Agreement/Service Agreement with one or more selected contractors and reserves the right to award multiple agreements.

Vendor preferences totaling no more than 10% combined are available: 5% Small Business Preference (vendors with fewer than 50 full-time employees), 5% Local Business Preference (principal office in the City of Albuquerque or Bernalillo County), 5% State Resident Business Preference (valid New Mexico State certification), 5% Pay Equity Preference (City Pay Equity Business Certificate), or 5% State Resident Veteran Business Preference. Vendors must submit a completed Vendor Preference Affidavit of Eligibility with their bids to claim any preference.

Minimum qualifications include a valid Hauled Waste permit from the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority and a valid Liquid Waste Transporter Permit from the New Mexico Environment Department. Services encompass removal of liquids, grease, and solids; scraping of interior walls and baffles; removal of grease from inlet/outlet; and reassembly of grease traps at 21 Sunport locations (125 to 1,000 gallons, serviced twice monthly) and 11 additional municipal facilities including senior centers (22 to 1,000 gallons, serviced monthly to semiannually).

Bidders must submit pricing through a standardized worksheet broken down by grease trap size categories (0–50 gallons, 50–100 gallons, 100–500 gallons, 500–1,500 gallons) and frequency. Sunport work requires employees to obtain unescorted airport badges within 120 days of award; badge application and associated fees ($20–$250 per employee) are contractor-borne. The contract term is three years from award with an optional one-year renewal for a maximum four-year total. The City will evaluate bids for a minimum of 90 calendar days after submission. No cost-plus contracts are permitted. Submissions are through the City's Bonfire eProcurement system.
