About this opportunity
Mercer County is seeking bids for golf course and park maintenance materials and sewage treatment chemicals through a competitive procurement process. The county is soliciting proposals from manufacturers and suppliers to provide chemical fertilizers, turf management products, seeds, sands, soils, and sewage treatment chemicals for the Mercer County Park Commission and Mercer County Correction Center Water Treatment Facility. The procurement will result in awarding contracts to up to five responsive and responsible bidders for a one-year term, with vendor selection based on the lowest unit cost per item. Bidders must provide brand names or equivalent products, accompanied by material product sheets, and ensure all grass seed is Blue Tagged Certified. Key submission requirements include consistent pricing according to county unit of measure, online catalog submissions from manufacturers, and compliance with New Jersey state statutes N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 and N.J.A.C. 5:34. The bid is electronically posted on BidNet Direct, with questions accepted via the Bidnet question portal or email to ohibbert@mercercounty.org by June 6, 2025, and final bids due by June 24, 2025, at 11:30 A.M.
The procurement does not explicitly indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The contract appears open to manufacturers and suppliers who can meet the specified technical requirements and provide competitive pricing. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the solicitation indicates that the contract will be available to various Mercer County municipalities, school districts, and authorities through the Cooperative Contract Purchasing System. Bidders must submit standard state-mandated documentation, including a Business Registration Certificate, proof of insurance, Statement of Ownership, and Disclosure of Investment Activities in Iran. Vendors must demonstrate the capability to provide emergency services and priority support for Mercer County. Though specific budget ranges are not detailed, the comprehensive list of 54 line items suggests a potentially significant procurement value covering a wide range of maintenance and treatment chemicals. The county reserves the right to not be bound by minimum or maximum quantities, providing flexibility in the contract's implementation.
