About this opportunity
The City of Long Beach is requesting bids for General Motors and Chevrolet OEM parts and services under ITB FM-24-448, with bids due June 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. PST and questions due May 29, 2024. The City intends to award to UAG Cerritos LLC, doing business as Penske Chevrolet of Cerritos, as the lowest responsive bidder following evaluation on June 27, 2024.
Bidders must maintain a place of business within a twenty-five-mile radius of the Fleet Services Bureau at 2600 Temple Avenue, Long Beach, and possess adequate inventory of replacement parts. Chevy Certified Technicians are required; bidders must report the number of certified technicians on staff and identify CNG-certified technician availability. Pricing shall be based on percentage discounts from the manufacturer's published price lists, submitted with the bid and firm for 90 days after opening. NET 30 payment terms apply; the City will not calculate discounts for payments under 14 days. All deliveries must be made FOB destination within 24 hours of order receipt; special orders or factory parts must be available within seven working days unless overnight delivery is requested.
The contract term is twenty-four months from award, with an optional extension of up to three additional one-year periods at the City's sole discretion. The City prefers a single contractor but reserves the right to award to multiple vendors or adjust quantities. Two bids were received: UAG Cerritos I, LLC submitted a total of $2,564.30 with a 25 percent discount; ASAP Auto Parts LLC submitted $1,521.81 with zero percent discount, though labor pricing was not provided.
Bidders must submit five current customer references, California Secretary of State registration proof, a W-9 form, commercial general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, and workers' compensation coverage. All submissions are electronic through the City's secure bidding system, with wet signature bid cover pages mailed to the City Clerk. Final award follows a purchase order and does not commence without execution.
