About this opportunity

San Jose State University is seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive generator maintenance services for its campus building systems through a Request for Proposals (RFP). The procurement opportunity focuses on delivering routine maintenance, emergency services, and non-maintenance support for campus infrastructure. Contractors must demonstrate expertise in generator maintenance and be capable of supporting the university's diverse building system requirements. The RFP was posted on May 13, 2016, with proposals due by June 1, 2016, at 2:00 PM PDT. The university anticipates selecting multiple contractors, with work allocation based on campus needs, contractor experience, and specific expertise. While detailed evaluation criteria are not explicitly outlined, the university will likely assess contractors' technical capabilities, service responsiveness, and historical performance in similar institutional settings. The proposed contract structure is a 3-year agreement with an optional 2-year extension, potentially creating a 5-year total contract period.

The solicitation does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types, suggesting the opportunity is open to a broad range of qualified contractors. The anticipated annual work value is approximately $400,000, representing a substantial opportunity for maintenance service providers. No incumbent vendors are mentioned in the available documentation, and the RFP does not indicate specific technology integration requirements. Contractors interested in responding must submit proposals in US Dollars and demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in generator maintenance and campus building system support. The university's approach suggests flexibility in contractor selection, with the potential to distribute work among multiple providers based on their demonstrated strengths and the campus's evolving maintenance needs. Prospective bidders should carefully review the full RFP documentation and be prepared to showcase their technical expertise, service capabilities, and proven track record in similar institutional maintenance environments.
